Britney was OK; Sarah was great

Britney Spears was certainly adequate when she guest-starred on “How I Met Your Mother” last month. And her appearance boosted the show to some of its best ratings ever.
But what really made that March 24 episode exceptional was the appearance of Sarah Chalke (“Scrubs”) as a possible love-interest for Ted (Josh Radnor). She was fantastic and — this is total speculation — she just might be the as-yet unseen “mother” in the title.
It would be great if, after Chalke completes her work on “Scrubs,” she signs on to “HIMYM.”
Of course, it would be great if CBS renewed “HIMYM” so it’s around long enough for Chalke to sign on.
