New films in theaters this week …

– “Beaufort,” the Oscar-nominated war drama about the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon.

– “The Forbidden Kingdom,” a martial-arts/fantasy pairing Hong Kong stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

– “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” the latest, raunchy romantic comedy from the producers of “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Knocked Up” and “Superbad.”

“Sarah Marshall” is very funny, though it’s also extremely R-rated (be warned!). And the fight scenes are the highlight of “Forbidden Kingdom,” which forces Chan and Li to play second banana to bland American teen Michael Angarano.

The fascinating, sometimes disturbing “Beaufort” opened two days early, Wednesday at the Broadway Centre because of possible conflicts with the upcoming Jewish Passover holiday.
