Where in the World is Ozzz …
Another of this week’s new movie openings is “Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?”, a new documentary from “Super Size Me” filmmaker Morgan Spurlock.
I did see the film during the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. However, I just didn’t see enough of the movie to feel justified in writing a review for the Deseret News. As it turns out, I went to a 10:30 p.m. showing at the Broadway Centre Cinemas in Salt Lake City. That was on the tail end of a very long film festival experience and work week, and I was completely exhausted. Needless to say, I was out like a log pretty quickly, within a few minutes of the theater lights dimming. At best, I think I saw perhaps half of the 93-minute film. That’s my full disclosure, if you will.
Maybe that’s my review of “Where in the World … ” It didn’t hold my interest long enough to keep me awake. And what I do remember seeing wasn’t nearly as captivating as “Super Size Me” was. But again, I didn’t really feel like I could or should review the film. Especially since its distributor refused to screen the movie again in time for opening-day reviews.
You will notice, however, that the paper did run a review of the movie — a wire-service review from Orlando Sentinel critic Roger Moore, who’s usually in the same reviewing ballpark as I am.
