Nicole Kidman as Dusty Springfield

Michael Cunningham and Nicole Kidman are going to be working togetheron another movie. This time the flick will be about the life of singer Dusty Springfield.
Cunningham and Kidman found Academy Award success with their last collaobration, “The Hours,” back in 2002. Will they again?
Entertainment reports say that Cunningham, who wrote “The Hours” novel, is writing a screenplay about Springfield and Kidman is listed as a producer and will be cast as Springfield.
Interestingly enough, Universal is gathering their sources for its own Dusty Springfield biopic starring Kristin Chenoweth.
So, who is better to play Dusty Springfield?
Personally, I can see both Chenoweth and Kidman doing fine as Springfield, but the ultimate deciding factor would have to be the quality of the script.
So, in the spirit of pop-star biopics, I pose this question: If you could decide on a movie about a pop-music star, who would that star be and who would play him or her?
For example, a few years ago, I wrote a column about an Ozzy Osbourne film and chose Sean Astin or Jack Black to play rock’s Prince of Darkness.
So what are your thoughts?
