How many dance shows is too many?

Dance shows are certainly nothing new. When I was a kid back in the ’70s, Deney Terrio was disco-ing his way through “Dance Fever.” And “The Arthur Murray Party” lasted from 1950-1960 . . . before even I was born.

But, with the success of “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” the shows have begun to proliferate almost exponentially.

Recently, we’ve seen shows like “America’s Ballroom Challenge,” “Step It Up and Dance,” “Your Mama Don’t Dance” and “Ballroom Bootcamp,” just to name a few.

Even “Pants-Off Dance-Off.” (Ick, by the way.)

And, starting Monday, we’ll see “Masters of Dance” on TLC.

How many of these do you watch?

How many is too many?
