"Smart" gets the gold!

The weekend’s top-10 movies, courtesy of Media by Numbers:

1. Get Smart — $39.2 million
2. Kung Fu Panda — $21.7 million
3. The Incredible Hulk — $21.6 million
4. The Love Guru — $14 million
5. The Happening — $10 million
6. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — $8.4 million
7. You Don’t Mess With the Zohan — $7.2 million
8. Sex and the City — $6.5 million
9. Iron Man — $4 million
10. The Strangers — $1.9 million

The opening for “Get Smart” was slightly bigger and better than initial box-office analyst projections. And overall, the summer box office has been strong. One film, “Iron Man,” has already topped $300 million, and the fourth Indiana Jones adventure should do the same within the next couple of weeks.

Both films come from the same studio, Paramount Pictures. Unfortunately, another Paramount production, the Mike Myers comedy “The Love Guru,” opened pretty weakly and looks like it may be one of the few busts this summer.

Which of the big summer movies has been your favorite so far?
