Weber State student piano trio at the Northern Lights Chamber Music Festival

Weber State University Students Kathyn Palkki, Samuel Runolfson and Nicholas Maughan ‘ collectively known as Tria Fata (a name inspired by the mythical Three Fates who share one eye, because the only “I” found in the trios first names is in Nicholas) will perform at the Northern Lights Chamber Music Festival in Aurora, Minn., June 29-July 18.

The trio wil perform Dvorak’s “Dumky” Piano Trio, Rachmaninoff’s Trio Elegiaque No. 1 in G Minor and Ned Rorem’s “Spring Music” for Piano Trio.

The trio was invited by festival director Veda Zuponcic, who was a guest artists at WSU’s Bonneville Chamber Music Festival last month.

Good job!

But the trio’s name and its origins could be a little obscure for some.
