The National Geographic Channel is doing a second season of “Dogtown,” the documentary series about the Best Friends animal shelter in southern Utah.
And the two-hour season premiere, which will air in the fall, follows 22 dogs that came from Michael Vick’s dog-fighting operation.
TV critics gathered for the press tour here in Beverly Hills didn’t have any trouble with that concept. But some of them were a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out where the Best Friends shelter is.
“What city is your facility in?” asked one critic.
John Garcia, the dog care assistant manager and the lead trainer for the Michael Vick dogs, pretty much dodged the question. Out of necessity.
“We are in southern Utah, right on the Arizona border,” he said.
I was going to tell the critic it was close to Kanab, but I don’t think it would have helped. . . .
