Among the many activities going on this extended, Pioneer Day holiday weekend is the Bicknell International Film Festival, which is being advertised as “better living through bad cinema.”
The rather unique film festival returns to Bicknell’s Wayne Theatre, 11 E. Main, July 25 and 26.
This year’s version of the Bicknell International Film Festival features the theme “Wild, Wild Worst — Bad B Westerns,” and will include screenings of “The Terror of Tiny Town” (1938) and Howard Hughes’ infamous 1943 film “The Outlaw.” Returning activities include a swap meet, a “Party of the Stars,” a mutton-and-taters breakfast and “The World’s Fastest Parade” (which sometimes reaches highway speed).
Screening tickets are $8, and festival “fast passes” (good for admission to all screenings and parties) are $50. For more information, call 435-425-3554.
