It's "9021 Uh-Oh" — new version stinks

That’s an inescapable conclusion after TV critics received this e-mail from The CW:

“The CW and our studio partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen ‘90210’ for any media in advance of its premiere. We’re not hiding anything . . . simply keeping a lid on ‘90210’ until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time.”

That’s a huge pile of, um, baloney. Of course they’re hiding something by not screening it for critics. And we all know what they’re hiding.

It’s terrible.

In the 18-plus years that I’ve been a TV critic, I cannot recall a single show that networks refused to show to critics that was anything other than awful.

So the important words here are “stinks,” “terrible” and “awful.”

I might change my mind if I see an advance copy of the show. But I’m not holding my breath.
