David Archuleta to make acting debut

“American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta is making his acting debut. He’s almost playing himself, and on just the sort of show you might expect.

Archuleta will appear on the squeaky-clean series “iCarly,” which airs on the squeaky-clean cable network Nickelodeon. He’ll play a contestant on an “Idol”-like talent show show.

For those of you who are older than 14ish, “iCarly” is about Carly (Miranda Cosgrove), a teenager who has her own video blog. And Archuleta will play a contestant who gets a boost from that video blog.

The episode won’t air until sometime next spring . . . and will you be watching?
