It’s good to be a Coldplay fan this weekend.
First off, Coldplay is playing in Salt Lake City Saturday at the EnergySolutions Arena. Ticket are still on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 801-325-7328.
Then on Sunday, the band will perform during the American Music Awards. That program will be televised — locally on KTVX, Ch. 4.
And lastly, Capitol Records has announced it will release a deluxe edition of the band’s most recent CD “Viva la Vida” Nov. 24.
The deluxe edition will contain the full version of “Viva la Vida,” but will also include an extra, extended-play disc called “Prospekt’s March,” filled with six new songs and different versions of “Lost!” and “Lovers in Japan.” “Lost +” is a remix with rap-mogul Jay-Z. The revised “Lovers in Japan” is titled the “Osaka Sun mix.”
The band recorded the six new songs during the “Viva la Vida” studio sessions but saved them for this special release.
Those song titles are “Life in Technicolor ii” (a different version than the original CD track “Life in Technicolor”), “Postcards from Far Away,” “Glass of Water,” “Rainy Day,” “Prospekt’s March/Poppyfield” and “Now My Feet Won’t Touch the Ground.”
Yeah, it’s good to be a Coldplay fan these days.
