OK, so I went out and bought the new Guns N’ Roses CD “Chinese Democracy” last week.
I like it.
Now, I’m not sure when each song was written — I mean, it’s been 17 years since the last GN’R album, “The Spaghetti Incident,” was released. So the songs could have been written anytime in those years.
However, unlike some new CDs from veteran artists, “Chinese Democracy” has a flow to its sequencing. Even when the songs switch styles from the driving rock of “Shackler’s Revenge” to the grand piano epic “Street of Dreams” and the city-night cruise of “If the World,” the album still sounds consistent.
I think my favorite song on the disc is “Riad N’ the Bedouins.”
So now that the album has been out for couple of weeks, I’d like to know what you all think.
