You will get to watch "Watchmen"

It appears the superhero thriller “Watchmen” will open in theaters March 6 after all. Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox have been squabbling for the past two months about which of them owns the distribution rights to the film.

(Warners paid for the production costs on the film, which is directed by Zack Snyder. Fox, however, said it had an earlier claim on the DC Comics property.)

It looked like the two studios were headed to federal court. But negotiations this week apparently went well. Thursday the two sides released a joint statement, saying that studios executives “have resolved their dispute … Warner Bros. and Fox, like all ‘Watchmen’ fans, look forward with great anticipation to this film’s release.”

Financial terms were not disclosed, though the Daily Variety trade paper is reporting that Fox may have received a cash payment between $5 million-$10 million.
