I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite parts of the annual, professional football championship game is watching the ads — in particular, the ads and trailers for upcoming movies. (Super Bowl XLIII is being broadcast Feb. 1, if you somehow missed that announcement.)
This year’s expected movie promos not only include new spots for the highly anticipated “Watchmen,” they also include one of the more unique Super Bowl ads. DreamWorks Animation has created a 3-D trailer for its new cartoon feature, “Monsters vs. Aliens,” which opens in theaters March 27.
It will be the first 3-D trailer prepared for television. And to see the trailer you’ll need special glasses, which are available for free at many grocery stores and convenience store locations. (A list of participating stores can be found at www.sobeworld.com
Also, the glasses can be used for another 3-D ad (for Pepsi products) as well as a special 3-D episode of NBC’s “Chuck” series, which airs the following night.
The ads are currently scheduled to air during the second quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers-Arizona Cardinals game.
