Houghs and Hightower on "Dancing With the Stars"

Donny Osmond isn’t on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars,” but three of the professional dancers have Utah ties.

Two-time champion Julianne Hough (who won mirror-ball trophies with Apolo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves) returns for her fifth season, partnering with country singer Chuck Wicks.

Defending champion Derek Hough (who won last fall with Brooke Burke) returns for his fourth season, partnering with Lil’ Kim.

And Chelsie Hightower — who was a finalist on “So You Think You Can Dance” last summer — makes her “Dancing With the Stars” debut, partnering with rodeo star Ty Murray.

Singer Jewel, one of the “Stars,” is a one-time Utahn, although she’s been known to deny that fact.

The new season of “Dancing With the Stars” is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 9, on ABC/Ch. 4 at 7 p.m.
