Super Band announcement

Tinted Windows is NOT to be confused with other super bands such as the classic Bad Company, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, the Traveling Wilburys, Cream, Emerson Lake & Palmer, the Highwaymen and the likes.

However, Tinted Windows brags an — ahem — unusual and unique line up.

The band is comprised of Smashing Pumkins guitarist James Iha, Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, Fountains of Wayne Bassist Adam Schlesinger and Hanson keyboardist Taylor Hanson.

Yes, you read that right.

I do admit when I first heard about this band my first thought was “WHAT?”

And when I reread the press release my second thought was “WHAT?”

My head had a hard time wrapping itself around this, um, interesting collaboration.

In fact, as I write this my thought is “WHAT?”

And I can guarantee when I’m home tonight and this band pops into my head my thought will be “WHAT?”

Still, a part of me wants to hear the debut CD from Tinted Windows this spring.

Billboard.com has reported that the band’s CD is finished and it will play South by Southwest music and media fest in Austin, Texas, on March 20.
