A WEEK AGO, I would have told you that both Megan Corkrey and Taylor Vaifanua stood an excellent chance of making the “American Idol” finals.
Today, I’m considerably less confident.
Corkrey, of course, performed this week and didn’t get voted in to the Final 12. She still might get picked as one of three wild cards by the judges — who, for the most part, gushed about her performance on Wednesday. But they’re picking three of 27 semifinalists, so the odds aren’t great.
As for Vaifanua, when we’ve had a chance to hear her sing on the show, she’s been amazing. But, over the past couple of weeks, a bunch of semifinalists with great voices have blown it. Some of them were just downright bad.
Maybe the pressure got to them.
How do you think Vaifanua will do on Tuesday? Do you think Corkrey will be one of the wild-card finalists?
Brooke White reappears: Did you catch Brooke White on Wednesday’s edition of “American Idol”?
White, who finished fifth last season, returned to sing her new single, “Hold Up My Heart.”
What did you think of her performance?
