Maybe this will give Oscar the time to get it right next year!
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that it is moving the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony to March 7, 2010.
For the past couple of years, the Academy Awards ceremony has been held the last Sunday in February. But the move will allow the Oscars to avoid competition from the 2010 Winter Games, which will be held Feb. 12-28 in Vancouver, Canada.
The move will also give the Oscar voters a little more time for see the nominated films and performances … and will hopefully mean we won’t see as many undeserving nominations and winners as in previous years. (I’m still stunned that “The Reader” was nominated for anything, much less bringing Kate Winslet her first Best Actress trophy.)
