Careful the things you say

I’ve found it unsettling of late that my 1 1/2-year-old is moving quickly into a mimicking stage.

She’s always been quite a talker, and now she’s mimicking Mommy. Which at times is darling — like her love of singing and standing on a “stage.” She likes to get on the step from my at-home workout video, wave her arms and sing “Delightful!”

But now she’s also taken to calling for the dog. It catches me off guard to hear her shout, “Ginger NOW! Come NOW!” Hmmm …. Do I really sound like that? Actually the word “NOW” must be used a lot in this household as it’s moving to the top spot in her vocabulary. Better than some other words, I suppose.
