1. Star Trek
$72.5 million
2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
$27 million
3. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
$10.5 million
4. Obsessed
$6.6 million
5. 17 Again
$4.4 million

The performance of the new Trek film was well within analysts’ expectations and was very good, considering the competition … namely the Wolverine movie, in its second weekend.

Speaking of that “prequel,” its second-week drop-off was pretty big and might indicate that it won’t have “legs,” or a very long run atop to the box office.

And both films will have strong competition in the next two weeks — from both “Angels & Demons” (May 15) and “Terminator Salvation” (May 21).
