Hey, everyone. I was away from the office longer than I thought, but it was worth it.
My wife and I bought a house. And while getting through the paperwork, bids and loan-approval steps went smoothly, I was always waiting for setbacks and snags.
Luckily, none occurred.
The biggest headache was, of course, moving. Not only did we have to move tables and chairs, futons, a washer and dryer, musical instruments and numerous other things (including two cats), we also had to move book and CD shelves. And then we had to move the CDs and books.
Let’s just say my CDs have their own room, and my wife has almost as many books as I have CDs.
Anyway, we enlisted the help of my mom, my daughters, my sister, my brother-in-law and two friends and got it done this past weekend. Our arms and legs are still sore, but we’re not complaining.
In fact, our theme song right now is the Crosby Stills & Nash tune “Our House.” Because, “our house is a very, very, very fine house. With two cats in the yard.”
Well, our situation is a little different: We don’t let our cats outside.
