Marie Osmond's talk show a no-go

MARIE OSMOND’S DAYTIME TALK SHOW is on indefinite hold. Whether it ever goes into production remains up in the air, but it won’t premiere this fall as long planned.

According to Variety.com, “The hourlong strip had been cleared on stations covering more than 80 percent of U.S. TV households, but the weakness in the local TV ad market made it impossible for the distrib to support the cost of mounting a national launch, execs said.”

Osmond hasn’t entirely given up on the idea of hosting a daytime talk show. “This project, under proper conditions, still remains a strong passion of mine,” she said.

In the meantime, she’s still headlining at the Flamingo on the Las Vegas Strip with her brother, Donny; she’s about to release an album of gospel music; and Donny and Marie are scheduled to release an album in November.
