Drums!
I finally played drums for the first time since May. And it ruled!
The reason I couldn’t play was, of course, because we moved and I needed to get all the CDs and box sets in their shelves to make room for the drums.
On Saturday, the box sets were in place and I set up the drums.
I grabbed my iPod, cranked it up and the first song I played to was Iron Maiden’s “Killers.”
Then I went into Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” and Pantera’s “Becoming” before playing the whole Metallica album “Ride the Lightning.”
After that, I played some Styx, Ozzy, Slayer, Tool and George Winston. (Just kidding on the last one.)
It was great getting back into the rhythm of things. And, to my surprise, not a drumstick was dropped.
What made the experience even better was the fact that after I finished playing — for about two hours — I talked to my one of my neighbors and she said she didn’t mind at all because she couldn’t hear a thing.
I just hope the other neighbors feel the same way.
