I suffered my first letdown of 2010 last night.
I missed the Ahmad Jamal concert at the Sheraton City Center.
I was so looking forward to that show, but then my stomach had different ideas. In fact, my whole body did.
I guess I should be thankful that my immune system was called to arms to fight off a nasty invading virus. The problem was the fact that the war inside me took a toll.
I had actually been feeling under the weather all weekend, but it came to a head last night, just three hours before Jamal was suppose to take the stage.
I had waited so long to see the 79-year-old living jazz legend play. And then I had miss it.
I bet the show was good. I bet he ripped it up on his piano. And I bet the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
