Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today I began celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by taking a break from the Beatles and cranking up some Young Dubliners.

I love all the Young Dubs’ CDs, and I’m currently in the midst of “With All Due Respect: the Irish Sessions.” It’s packed chock-full of traditional Irish tunes that have been given the Young Dubliners work out. It also contains two Pogues covers – “If I Should Fail to Fall From the Grace of God” and “Pair of Brown Eyes.”

Next I’ll be hitting my Black 47 CDs, my Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys.

Tonight I’ll mellow things out with Enya, early Clannad and my Loreena McKennitt collection, before capping off with another compilation called “The Legacy Of Turlough O’Carolan.”

This CD features music written by Irish composer Turlough O’Carolan, performed by the likes of Irish musicians such as William Coulter, Seamus McGuire, John Whelan, Dordan and Maire ni Chathasaigh, to name a few.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!
