PARK CITY — The Sundance Institute’s local, summer film screening “season” kicks off with a showing of the 2009 documentary “Waste Land” at the Salt Lake City Library May 8.

That screening is part of the Live Green SLC! Festival. Institute officials have also changed at least one of the locations for the popular summer screening series. Red Butte Garden will replace the Gallivan Center, which is undergoing renovations, while Park City Park will also host some of the screenings.

Jill Miller, managing director of the Sundance Institute, said she and the organization are “thrilled to be partnering with Red Butte Garden,” adding that the collaborations between Sundance and the venues “offered an incredible opportunity to build upon a strong, existing community that enjoys artistic events in a stunning setting.”

Other announced programs for the series are:

– “Unzipped” (1995), June 3, 7 p.m., Tower Theatre
– “Son of Rambow” (2007), July 1, Park City Park
– “Once” (2006), July 21, Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre
– “Mary and Max” (2009), Aug. 6, Park City Park
– “The Motorcycle Diaries” (2004), Aug. 25, Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre
