Utahn will work the 'Runway'

Utahn McKell Maddox is among the 17 contestants who’ll be battling it out on the upcoming season of “Project Runway.”

The 29-year-old wife and mother was born in Brigham City and grew up in Layton. She’s a 1998 graduate of Layton High.

“My own personal style is fun,” Maddox said.

And she’s not exactly what non-Utahns think of when they think of Utahns, at least not on the surface.

Maddox sports dreadlocks and tattoos.

The “Project Runway” season premiere is Thursday, July 29, at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
