U2 and United Concerts announced Wednesday that Colorado rockers The Fray will be the opening act when U2 play its rescheduled concert at Rice-Eccles Stadium on May 24.
Emergency back surgery for Bono forced the band to postpone its 360 degrees Tour earlier this year, less than a week before the Salt Lake City appearance. Much of the stage was already in place at Rice-Eccles when the postponement was announced.
Bono has since made a full recovery and the U2 360 degrees Tour resumed in Italy last month.
All tickets purchased for the original June 3, 2010, show will be honored. United Concerts said Wednesday there are a limited number of good seats still left at all price levels.
Tickets can be purchased at all SmithsTix outlets or by calling 801-467-8499 or 800-8880-8499, or by logging onto www.smithstix.com.
The massive U2 production includes the largest stage ever built for a concert. The centerpiece of the stage is a four-pronged tower, nicknamed “The Claw,” that stands 150 feet tall.
