New Year's Eve

Where will you be singing Auld Lang Syne when the clock strikes midnight and the calendar turns over to 2011?

There are plenty of concert options for those looking for a little live music to go along with thier festivities. But some of those options are already getting smaller, so make plans soon!

Jewel, who was born in Payson, will play tonight at the Eccles Center in Park City. The good news is if you have a ticket, it should be a great show. The bad news is there are no more tickets left. The Jewel show is sold out, so those without tickets need to find a friend who has an extra, stat.

Likewise, James McMurtry’s NYE show at The State Room is also sold out. McMurtry is playing two sets, the second one beginning at midnight to help State Room patrons ring in the new year.

Speaking of sold out State Room shows, Robert Earl Keen’s Jan. 17 show sold out so quickly that a second was added for the day before, Jan. 16. If you want to go, get your tickets now before that show sells out too.

Fortunately, not every live show in Utah is sold out tonight.

The Depot is hosting its New Year Eve Soiree 2011 with Steve Smooth, DJ K, Timone and Cool Hand Luke.

Royal Bliss will be rocking The Huka Bar in Murray.

And of course, there will be lots of local artists playing at Salt Lake City’s EVE celebration.
