Stadiums, sellouts and summer night shows

Concert roundup

Nu-metal-rock-rappers Linkin Park perform Friday night at the Energy Solutions Arena along with Prodigy. Tickets can be purchased at the box office.

It’s already starting off to be a really good year for United Concerts.

In addition to the big arena and stadium shows (coming soon – Lady Gaga, U2, Katy Perry), the sellouts continue at The Depot. If you didn’t get your tickets to Adele, her May 29th show at The Depot is already sold out! There are still tickets available for Leftover Salmon, The Young Dubliners, The English Beat, OMD and Jeff Beck. But the way the shows have been selling, it would be smart to get tickets sooner rather than later.

If you’re a person who can’t stand the thought of shoveling your driveway one more time this year, maybe thoughts of outdoor summer concerts will help. United Concerts and the USANA Amphitheatre are putting their “Country Megaticket” on sale Saturday. The four concert package will get you tickets to Kenny Chesney on July 9, Tim McGraw on Aug. 6, Sugarland on Aug. 20 and Rascal Flatts on Sept. 9.

Note that the Chesney stop in Utah does not include the Zac Brown Band, who are co-headlining with Chesney on most of his shows this summer. That could either be good news or bad news for ZBB fans: bad news initially because they’re not coming. But, good news in that it leaves open the possibility of the band coming to Utah and headlining their own show.

Speaking of stadium shows and country acts, the lineup for the annual Stadium of Fire show in Provo has been announced. Brad Paisley will perform at this year’s show at Lavell Edwards Stadium along with David Archuleta, or as some locals are calling it, David Archuleta along with Paisley. Tickets go on sale March 4.
