Adele postpones, Taylor Swift sells out, and The Priest

Concert news and notes:

Fans waiting for weeks to see the sold out Adele show at The Depot Monday were disappointed when illness forced her to postpone the show at the last minute. Those with tickets are encouraged to hold on to them while United Concerts works with Adele’s people to reschedule the show.

Speaking of sold out shows and women on top of the music world, Taylor Swift doesn’t come to Salt Lake City until Sept. 28, but her show at the Energy Solutions Arena is already sold out.

And finally, switching to a completely different genre….fresh off their surprise appearance on American Idol, British metal icons Judas Priest will play the Maverick Center in West Valley on Nov. 4. It’s part of the Priest’s farewell tour.

Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton and Ian Hill will be part of the tour. But guitarist KK Downing, one-half of Priest’s longtime famous guitar duo, unexpectedly announced his retirement from the band about a month ago before the start of the tour.
