Concert news, notes and tidbits 3/7

Let’s talk amphitheater shows first.

Never underestimate the power of Nickelodeon. Boy band Big Time Rush apparently are big enough that they’ll be headlining the USANA Amphitheatre on July 25. Joining them will be Cody Simpson and X Factor darling Rachel Crow. Tickets on sale now at Smithtix.
More rock has also been added to the USANA lineup.

Last August, the Scorpions played what was billed as their farewell tour. They brought along Tesla for the ride as the opener (see bad cell phone picture of the two bands together on stage at USANA). Seems as though the Scorps aren’t ready to say goodbye yet. The double lineup of the Scorpions and Tesla will return to USANA June 11 in what the veteran German rockers are now billing as their “Final Sting World Tour.”

Smaller venue shows.
A couple of sell outs to talk about:

At In The Venue, Fun.’s March 31st show is sold out, according to Smith Tix. Having the No. 1 song on iTunes, “We Are Young,” will do that.
Snow Patrol’s April 28 show at The Depot is also sold out.
There are still tickets available to The Civil Wars at The Depot on May 24. But I’m told there’s a good likelihood that will sell out before the day of the show also, so get tickets now if you want to go.
