Some big name acts have recently announced they’re headed back to Utah. And all the shows seem to correspond with an upcoming holiday.
X96’s Nightmare Before Xmas concert will feature ’80s punk icon Billy Idol.
The show will be at The Complex. Idol is not only supporting his first new album in nearly a decade, Kings and Queens of the Underground, but he also has a new autobiography, “Dancing With Myself.” Hopefully Billy and Steve Stevens’ stop in Salt Lake this time around will be longer than his short six-song set during the Warped Tour in 2005.
If you believe the headlines, they’re the most hated band in America. But apparently someone is buying tickets because they continue to have massive summer tours. And having interviewed them, I can say they’re nice guys with a good sense of humor about the seeming Nickelback backlash. Nickelback returns for a summer show in 2015 at USANA Amphitheater on July 5 as part of their No Fixed Address Tour, likely with a good arsenal of pyrotechnics in hand.
And arguably one of the biggest names in music, Taylor Swift, will kick off the Labor Day Weekend in 2015 with her 1989 World Tour at Energy Solutions Arena on Sept. 4 (yes, we’re already talking about concerts 10 months from now). Details on tickets sales were still pending.
