Texas Red Dirt Headed to Utah

RecklessKelly_OSJanuary is turning into a very good month for concerts in Salt Lake City.

After missing Utah completely in 2014, the Bruan brothers are making up for it with a great double bill at The Depot on the first Saturday night of 2015.

Reckless Kelly return along with Micky and the Motorcars on Jan. 3. However you want to label them – Texas Red Dirt music, country-rock, rockin’-country, alt-country – expect a large crowd of both Utah and Idaho residents packing The Depot for a fun night.

Even more good news for Texas music fans:

The last time Cody Canada played in Salt Lake City was 2012. But two weeks after Reckless, he and his band The Departed will have their long awaited return to The State Room on Jan. 18 in a double headlining show with Jason Boland.

The former frontman of theĀ quintessential Cross Canadian Ragweed has a new album coming out about the same time, Hippie Punk Love, that reportedly finds Canada getting back into more familiar musical territory than his band’s last release, Adventus.

Hoping to talk to members of all three bands in the coming weeks and will post my conversations with them here.
