So this year, Def Leppard and Styx are teaming up to hit USANA at the same time on Sept. 28. And they’re throwing in Tesla for good measure.
The iconic rockers from Sheffield are expected to release a new album in 2015, and are hitting the road for a massive summer tour in support. Last summer, Def Leppard opened for KISS, kicking off their entire tour at USANA. When the Leppards took the stage there was still wicked sunlight brightly shining on them.
This time, Utah is near the very end of Def Leppard’s tour schedule, and they’re headlining, meaning USANA will get the full lights and lasers production.
Styx headlined their own show last summer, with Foreigner and Don Felder opening. No new album in the works from the classic rockers. But they’re on the road so much that it’s impossible for them to have a bad show.
Sacramento rockers Tesla are another band that never disappoint in concert. Despite releasing their debut album in the mid-80s, the band has overcome the hairband stereotype and put together a solid 30 year career. Hey, Tesla still has more original members in the band than either Def Lep or Styx.
Tickets for USANA Amphitheatre go on sale Friday, February 20th at 10am. They will be available at all Smith’s Tix outlets, www.smithstix.com and by phone 801-467-TIXX, 1-800-888-TIXX.
